How do we care for you?
Stoma care
Our carers can assist in the process of taking care of your stoma, which is an opening surgically created that permits waste to leave your body. They do this by:
- Cleaning the area around the stoma
- Changing the stoma pouch regularly
- Monitoring the stoma
Oral suctioning
This involves removing secretions or any foreign matter from the throat or mouth by suctioning. It is effective for individuals who drool, have impaired swallowing, or have impaired cough reflexes caused by age or condition.
Oxygen therapy
Our carers help with administering extra oxygen to individuals with lung diseases, breathing problems, or who have difficulty getting enough oxygen for themselves.
PEG feeding
PEG stands for percutaneous endoscopic gastronomy. Our carers help you or your loved one by introducing food, medicine, or fluids directly into the stomach through a PEG tube. This is done for individuals who have problems swallowing or cannot eat by themselves.
