Welcome to our

RESPITE CARE

In need of a break.  We can help you with our respite care services.

Caring for a loved one is an amazing thing to do. However, it can be draining. We encourage primary carers to take regular breaks so that they can recharge and replenish their batteries in order to be better and more efficient carers.

At ICRIT, we acknowledge that everyone needs a break and some time to themselves. That’s why we offer respite services to those in need. You need to take care of yourself as well, and we will step into your shoes to take care of your loved one.

This can be for a few hours while you go for a hairdresser’s appointment, or it can be for a few days while you go on a much-needed vacation. In your absence, we will do our best not to disrupt your loved one’s routine, as we will take care of your loved one’s needs as you do.

If you’d like an estimate for your care requirements, please contact us to schedule a free, no-obligation in-home assessment. Our care manager will come to your home at a time that is convenient for you to discuss your care needs.

Why respite care?

We deliver our respite care for a number of reasons. These include when a primary carer is:

  • Ill and needs medical attention
  • They need a break to socialise or do what interests them.
  • Taking a vacation
  • Emergency arises

Our respite services ensure that a primary carer does not experience stress or burnout, allowing them to take a well-earned break.

Different types of respite

We offer a number of respite care packages. The most appropriate for you will depend on your loved one’s needs. The following are the types:

1. Visiting respite care

This is similar to domiciliary care. A carer will visit your loved one multiple times a day to support them with different tasks such as cleaning, meal preparation, and medication reminders.

2. Live-in respite care

This is when a carer moves in for the duration needed and is available around the clock to assist your loved one with their care needs. It means less disruption in your loved one’s care routines and is more suitable for more complex needs.

3. Holiday respite care

Carers can assist your loved one in a holiday setting. We can assist with vacation arrangements and activities.

How do I arrange respite care?
